The Mission of The Great North Woods Association for the Blind is to provide employment opportunities for blind, visually impaired and severely handicapped members of its regional communities.
Goals:
To provide opportunities for the blind, visually impaired and severely handicapped to earn incomes for themselves and for their families.
To have workers who are blind, visually impaired or severely handicapped successfully produce high quality products for the medical industry or for the betterment of the general public.
To achieve public recognition for their work skills and successes.
To improve the self esteem of the workers and their community members through their successes.
To accumulate funds from the sale of their work products that can be used to help support other organizations which help the blind, the severely handicapped or other persons in need of charitable assistance, in the States of New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.
Manufacturing
The nitrile glove was invented and patented by Neil Tillotson, a WWI Veteran. His nitrile glove invention remains the global standard for use in the medical and industrial environments. Today, GNWAB is helping to produce in New Hampshire the nitrile examination gloves with an original Tillotson FDA cleared 510K to help our Nation fight Covid 19 and save lives. GNWAB owns eight FDA cleared 510Ks to manufacture nitrile examination gloves, natural latex examination gloves, and natural latex surgical gloves.
